Configuring iPad/iPod with Windchill Application server

• Setup of Windchill Mobile Application on the application server
  • In Windchill navigate to Site > Preference Management  > Windchill Mobile Application
     
    
     
    
     
     
  • Set Enable System for Use With Windchill Mobile Application to Yes
     
    
     
    
     
     
• Set up of Windchill Mobile Application on the mobile device
   
  • The Windchill mobile app requires a separate license. Before performing these steps, contact your site administrator to ensure that your site has purchased this license and enabled the Windchill mobile app.
     
  • Make sure that the ipod/ipad in question can connect to the application server
    • Connecting to the application server Apache is a sufficient test for a monolithic system
    • Connecting to the a slave node Apache is a sufficient test for a clustered system
  • Go to Apple App Store and do a search for "Windchill"
     
    
     
     

• Download the Windchill mobile app from the app store on your mobile device.
• Connect to Windchill from your mobile device using the following steps:
• In the Windchill mobile app, select the options icon  on the home page.

Note: In some cases, you may be directed to the options page automatically without selecting the icon.

• Select Add Configuration.
• Enter a name for the configuration.
• Enter the URL for the Windchill server to which you want to connect. This is the same URL used for the Windchill web client, for example, myServer.myCorp.com:5000/Windchill.

The URL includes the following:

• server name
• port number, if necessary
• web application root path

• Enter the same user name used to log in to the Windchill web client.
